About me

Varied language education

I finished the Technical college in Nové Město nad Metují, however, after my leaving exams, I decided to improve my language skills and thus started to attend Pastime language school. Thanks to this school, I successfully passed the FCE exam and got the certificate. I continued studying English at the University of Pardubice, where I successfully finished the English for Business study programme. My last student experience was the English for interpreting and translating at Palacký University in Olomouc. There, I collaborated on several translation projects, particularly on the subtitling for the AFO 2014 festival and also on the translation of the short stories collection by Philip K. Dick.

My professional experience can be found in individual articles.

Language beginnings

I've been interested in translating basically from the moment I discovered the English language. It has surrounded me since I was little and I have always tried to understand it as well as I could. While studying, films, TV shows, video games and using the Internet in English had been a great help. Some time later, I also started to pay attention to the translation of various terms, places and other things and this led me to become more interested in the process of translation. My first act of translation was the translation of subtitles for personal use. Since 2014, I have been working as a freelance translator and a provider of language services.

And what is my ultimate goal? I primarily want to provide my customers with high-quality language services. The customer's absolute satisfaction is my reward.
